audio social app
[ Kabako ]
A social app where you post with your voice instead of your face, with an anonymous mode and AI that cleans up background noise.

Case study
Overview
Kabako is a social app built around voice. You post short audio stories, listen to a feed, react and chat. There’s an anonymous mode, and AI cleans up background noise and writes a transcript.
The problem
Lots of people have something to say but hate being on camera. Voice is more personal than text and less scary than video. The app had to make recording feel easy and safe, especially the first time.
My role & team
Product designer on the mobile app.
Process
- Designed the full app in dark mode, from sign up to group settings
- Mapped the creation flow from first recording to posting, including drafts
- Designed every account state: log in, errors, OTP, email verification, password reset
Key decisions
A guide for the first recording
The first time you record, Kabako tells you to find a quiet place and to respect the vibe: no sensitive info, no ads, no hate speech.
Anonymous by choice
One switch hides your name and profile and modifies your voice. People share more when they feel safe.
Transcripts everywhere
Every post has an AI transcript, so you can skim before you listen.
Screen by screen
Feed and random play
Your audio feed, plus a random play mode that strings posts together like a radio.
Create a post
Record, see the AI transcript, add a description, go anonymous if you want, then post or save as a draft.
Interactions
Comments, reactions, sharing and a list of everyone who interacted.
Profiles and analytics
Your profile, other people’s profiles, and creator stats like plays, engagement and top posts.
Chat
1:1 and group chats, with group settings, member permissions and admin controls.
