data & AI courses
[ Capydata ]
A course site for future data and AI engineers, with learning paths, certificates and a herd of very cute animal avatars.

Case study
Overview
Capydata is a course site for future data, ML and MLOps engineers: learning paths, articles, certificates and a herd of cute animal avatars.
The problem
Data engineering courses are everywhere, and most look the same: stock photos and walls of text. Capydata needed to feel credible to engineers and friendly to beginners.
My role & team
UI/UX designer on the website and onboarding.
Process
- Designed the homepage, pricing, articles, search and certificates
- Created six avatar characters for learner profiles
- Designed the sign in and password reset flows
Key decisions
Paths, not just courses
Featured learning paths like MLOps Engineer show the level and the number of courses up front, so learners pick a direction, not a random class.
Search that guesses
Instant search suggests trending topics and auto fills as you type.
Friendly avatars
Purple Lamb, Indigo Catto, Sunset Hedgehog, Gray Capydata, Mint Frog and Milk Blue Cow give a technical product some warmth.
Screen by screen
Homepage
“Master data and AI engineering”, social proof, featured paths and course previews.
Search
Trending topics, then auto fill suggestions like “AI fundamental learning path”.
Pricing
Plans, features and FAQ.
Articles
A blog list and a long form article layout.
Certificates
Templates for finishing a course and finishing a full path.
