Confession: I have spent more time looking for AWS icons than I want to admit. Not designing. Looking.
The annoying part
I work with AWS architecture diagrams on and off. Every time I needed one, it was the same little ritual. Download the official asset package. Unzip it. Dig through folders. Export the icon I need. Bring it into Figma. Realise I need six more. Repeat.
None of it is hard. It’s just slow and boring, and slow and boring adds up fast.
So I put them all in one place
I made one Figma file with all the icons, ready to use. No unzipping, no exporting, no treasure hunt.
- Organized by category, so you can browse instead of guess
- Fully vector, so they stay sharp at any size
- Easy to search, drag, drop and swap without rebuilding your diagram
It’s not perfect, and that’s fine
It’s still a work in progress. There are things I want to clean up and add over time. For a while I sat on it, waiting for it to be “done”. Then I remembered that “done” is a story designers tell themselves so they never have to hit publish.
So I put it out there. Better to share it now and improve as I go.
Why free?
I’m not selling anything. The design community has given me so much over the years: free files, free advice, and strangers on the internet patiently answering my very dumb questions. This is me giving a little back.
If even one person saves a bit of time on their next diagram, that’s enough for me. Want the file? Message me on LinkedIn and I’ll send it over. And if you spot a missing icon, tell me, I’ll add it. xoxo
